CD90+ Thy-1.1 Cells is considered a surrogate marker for various kinds of stem cells, particularly hematopoietic stem cells. Murine HSC falls under the CD90+ Thy-1.1 sub-population. In rats CD90 is also expressed on thymocytes, recent thymic emigrants, neurons, and other cell types.
Rat CD90+ Thy-1.1 Cells can be used for the study of rat hematopoiesis, stem cell biology, and pluripotent studies.
