Alive healthy laboratory mouse obtained from animal laboratories that have not been inoculated with or exposed to any livestock or avian species is conducted or poultry disease agent’s exotic. Mouse primary embryonic fibroblasts (MEF) are dissociated from day 13.5 mouse fresh embryos. MEF (P0, untreated) can be passaged a limited number of times for 4-5 population doublings. They display morphologic and growth properties equivalent to freshly prepared cells when approved media and supplements are used. MEF (P2, Irradiated) are used as a feeder layer for culturing embryonic stem cell (ESCs), including mouse and human ESCs, in their undifferentiated state. Mouse Embryonic Fibroblast can be used as a feeder layer in mouse and human pluripotent stem cell culture. MEF is characterized by immunofluorescence with antibody specific to fibronectin.
